Abstract

Sensor networks is a solid basis for the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide resources, business models and opportunities to build potential industrial systems improving manufacturing systems with efficient operations. In this context, IoT devices and sensor networks have a dynamic behavior and changes often modifying the production environment. Nevertheless, severe threats are increasing the complexity and difficulty to protect existing vulnerabilities of IoT devices and sensor networks. However, this work analysis of the application of an ontology-based security framework to decision-making using adaptive security model to improve secure information for the industrial systems. A knowledge base (IoTSec ontology) contributes to feed the system with queries of contextual information collected in the environment. The main contribution is the identification of security issues in specific industrial scenarios of C2NET project to address potential security mechanisms and approaches to protect critical aspects of security framework to the C2NET platform.
